The following information is required in order to create a container.
Container ID: The unique identifier for the container. This can be entered manually, or the system can generate the container id if Auto-generate Container ID is selected.
Container Type: Select the container type from the dropdown list. The container type will determine some basic attributes for the container you are creating, e.g. this is a reusable container.
Waste Profile: Select the primary waste profile that will be used to describe the waste within this container. You will not be limited to adding waste for this profile into the container.
Zone: Select the zone where the container is located. A container must always exist within a zone.
Weight/Volume: While you don't have to specify a weight for the container at this stage, you will be required to specify the UOM information related to the container, although this can be altered later. You can retrieve the default weight for the selected container type, or container type/waste profile combination by clicking on the Refresh button on the Net Weight input.

You can add additional waste to the container once it has been created. See Adding Waste to a Container for additional information.

Creating Containers (Mobile App)

You can create a new container via the New Container function on the Mobile App.

Subject to configuration, when creating to a new container you can manually specify the Container ID to assign to the new container or you can get the system to auto-generate the new Container ID.

Illustrated below is the New Container function configured to manually specify the Container ID to assign.

You then specify a value for each of the following attributes to apply to the container:

  1. Container Current Zone.
  2. Profile ID - This is the Waste Profile. A waste item placeholder is created in the container for this Waste Profile with a weight/volume of 0. The container can then be weighed at a later stage to adjust the weight/volume of this Waste Item.
  3. Container Type.
  4. Unit of Measure - This is the UOM to assign to the waste item placeholder.

Label(s) for the new container can be printed to a Bluetooth printer. Currently this feature is not supported on iOS. It is supported on Android and Windows only.

On the Print tab you specify:

  1. Container Label Printer - The printer you want to print to.
  2. Number of Container Labels - The number of container label(s) you want to print.
