Adding Waste to a Container from Work with Waste

The container must already exist in order to add additional waste to it. Refer to Creating Containers for information on how to create a container.

Adding Waste to a Container (Mobile App)

You can add waste to a container using the Create Waste function on the Mobile App.

Subject to configuration, the container can be a container that exists in the system already or a new container that will get created as part of the process.

Again subject to configuration, when creating to a new container you can manually specify the Container ID to assign to the new container or you can get the system to auto-generate the new Container ID.

Illustrated below is the Create Waste function configured to create waste into a new container where the ID of that container will be auto-generated by the system.

The Waste Created Zone is the Zone within the facility where the waste was originally created/produced. The Container Current Zone is where the container, and therefore waste, currently resides. Often waste that is produced is not recorded in the system at the moment in time it is produced. These two different Zone values allow you accurately record where the waste came from and where it currently resides.

Profile is the waste profile you wish to create waste for.

Container Type is the type of container the waste is within. If creating into an existing container then this value would be displayed but you wouldn't be prompted for it.

Compliance Date is the date the waste was actually produced. The system will use this date in order to monitor compliance and raise alerts with regard to how long waste is permitted to be stored on-site.

The Weight tab is where you specify the weight/volume of the waste to be created.

Max 55.00lb indicates that the maximum weight allowed for this Container Type is 55lb.

You can specify an exact Weight/Volume or a %Estimate of the Max allowed for the Container Type.

You may estimate that the container is 50% full and therefore would create 13.75lb of waste (50% of 55lb)

The weight/volume of waste to create can be specified an Additional amount to the container's current weight/volume or as a Total of the container's new weight/volume.

You would select Additional if you know the exact additional amount being added. This removes the need to calculate the new total weight/volume.

You would select Total if you didn't know the additional amount being added but knew the container's new weight/volume. The system will calculate the difference between the current and new and create waste for the additional.

Illustrated below is where you are specifying an exact Weight/Volume and specifying the Total weight/volume of the waste to create is 20lb.

Note - Another method of specifying the weight/volume is to retrieve the value from a Bluetooth weighing scales. Currently this feature is not supported on iOS. It is supported on Android and Windows only.
