Zones are the locations where waste is stored when on-site or a location where waste is treated. Waste is always within a zone. A zone could be a building, a bay, a rack location within a warehouse, whatever makes sense for your site.

It is recommended that you have Barcodes / QR Codes for your zones, as this will streamline the process of moving waste when using the mobile app. The contents of the Barcode / QR Code should be the Zone ID.

Zone ID *: This value must be unique for your site. This is the value that will be within the Barcode / QR Code for the zone.

Zone Description *: A description of the Zone.

Department *: The department that this zone is within. For Waste Generators, departments are important as they are used for Cost Center Analysis.

Sub-Department: The sub-department that this zone is within.

Zone Type *: The Zone Type for this zone. Zone Types determine the settings and rules for your Zones and are also a way of logically grouping zones together.

Compliance Days: If a compliance zone, then specify the maximum days the waste can exist in this zone before which the waste will be out if compliance.

Drum Equivalent Capacity: You can specify the drum equivalent capacity for the zone. This allows you to easily see within the system where you have the capacity to store waste.

Business Unit: You can link a zone to a business unit for reporting purposes.

Allowed Waste *: Indicate if this zone can accept all waste, hazardous waste only, or non-hazardous waste only.

Active Zone: If the zone is flagged as an active zone, then when waste is moved to that zone the date active will be set for that container.
