Zone Types determine the settings and rules for your Zones and are also a way of logically grouping zones together.

When creating a zone type, you must specify if this is an Accumulation, Compliance or Treatment zone type.

Accumulation Zone: An accumulation area is an area at or near any point of waste generation where hazardous waste initially accumulates and that is under the control of the operator of the process generating the waste.

Compliance Zone: If a container is moved into a zone that is marked as being a compliance zone another clock starts ticking in the system on that container.  A compliance zone has a number of days associated with the zone, it is used for ensuring regulatory compliance. Email alerts and dashboards can be used to monitor containers in compliance zones to ensure you remain compliant.

Treatment Zone: A treatment zone is a zone where waste is treated and is an endpoint for waste rather than a storage location. The treatment zone determines the treatment method to be recorded for the waste, e.g. Incineration
